Surgery
From complex procedures to fracture repair, our surgeons are able to ensure your pet will get the best surgical and post-operative care. Attention to detail is taken pre and post operatively with advanced pain control and diligent nursing care. Fresno Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center offers surgical services by our Board Certified surgeons every Wednesday. Surgical patients are referred to our team by the referring veterinarian or our emergency services. If your pet is referred to our surgical services, your pets’ medical record, laboratory work, radiographs, and previous history will all be beneficial to our surgical staff when consulting with you. Please have your referring veterinarian prepare the needed materials prior to your appointment. Your veterinarian can fax or mail this form to our facility (insert hyperlink to specialist referral form).
Appointments
Once you have consulted with your primary care veterinarian and they have referred your pet to our surgical team, you can call Monday through Friday 8am-5pm to schedule an appointment. If our surgical coordinator is unavailable at those times, you may be asked to leave your name and phone number so we can schedule you an appointment when she is available.
Appointments/consultations are approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on the severity of the case. Our surgeon will review the medical record and radiographs prior to examination of your pet, and at that time will develop a surgical plan. We will present you with a surgical treatment plan that will outline your pets’ surgical and post-operative care. If the surgical plan is agreed upon, surgery can be performed the same day, or if the owner requests at a later date.
Associated Fees
The cost of consultation with our surgical team is $100.00 for the initial examination and $60.00 for rechecks. Payment can be made in the form of cash, check, Visa/Mastercard/Discover/American Express, CareCredit, or Chase Health Advance. We do not extend lines of credit. All payment is due at time of services.
Proposed Treatment Plan
All clients are presented with proposed treatment plans for medical care for their pet. After examination by our doctor, a treatment plan will be generated based on the medical needs of the pet. A pre-payment of the low end of the treatment plan is required for treatment.
