Fresno Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center is a 24-hour emergency and critical care facility that is dedicated to providing excellence in emergency, surgery, and critical patient care.  Our family of board certified specialists, devoted emergency veterinarians, and experienced technical staff, are committed to providing the utmost care for your pet.

Our history

 

Fresno Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center was formally known as Central California Veterinary Specialty Center (CCVSC).  CCVSC was founded in July of 2006 by the late Roger Gfeller, DVM, DACVECC with the dream of offering a variety of specialty services in the Central Valley, something that has never been done by a 24-hour facility in this area.  Dr. Gfeller believed in the dedicated owners and referring veterinarians who make up the Central Valley community, and wanted to save them time from having to make a long drive to the Bay Area or Southern California.

Following Dr. Gfeller’s passing, the staff at CCVSC remained a family until the hospital was purchased in October 2009.  Fresno Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center continues to honor the dreams and values of Dr. Gfeller by offering numerous specialty services and keeping his veterinary family intact. 

Fresno Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center offers board certified specialists in emergency and critical care, surgery, cardiology, dentistry, and dermatology. We hope to continue growing our specialty services throughout the coming months.
